Towards Maximising our Glorious Destiny in Christ (Part 1) – Bishop David Oyedepo

Jeremiah 29:11 – there is predetermined end — Ephesians 1:3-5/11 — everyone born again is a predestinated being.

Predestination is a wonderful package Jeremiah 29:11 (a picture of future and hope).

We have a common destiny in Christ but it’s the spiritual understanding that defines the limit of our destinies Proverbs 21:16. We must be seeking higher understanding

  1. A holy Destiny Matthew 1:21 Ephesians 1:4 1 Peter :1:16 — The nature of God is a nature of holiness , so everyone that is born of God is ordained to be holy – 1 John 3:7-8/9-10 — we are called into a destiny of holiness Romans 8:1-2/3-4. 2 Corinthians 5:7 – all things are new (software has changed). What make a pig is inside the pig. Everyone living outside of holiness is living outside destiny.
  2. A glorious destiny Romans 8:29 2 Peter 1:3

How to know you are born again

No one has salvation by assumption, its a definite experience with a very definite proofs. People can call you church member but do God call you His family member

  1. Through the manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22-23

  1. The love of God that comes alive in us 1 John 4:16/4-7-8
  2. The joy of Salvation 1 Peter 1:18

2. Rescue from the works of the flesh Galatians 5:19-21

  1. Adultery- sexual sin 1 Thessalonians 4:3/5:22. If truly you are saved, the works of the flesh should be crucified in you — 2 Corinthians 6:19 2 Samuel 12:10 — There must be clear boundary. Satan will seek to take advantage of lack of sensitive of people. The standard must be held and the standard is the crush of the works of the flesh. If you walk with God, you must walk right.
  2. Idolatry — whatever makes you to substitute of assist God with something is idolatry. Everyone that is truly connected to God is disconnected with every other sources.

Keys to realising our Glorious Destiny

  1. Have a heart for God — those who hearts goes after God, God’s heart goes after them 1 Corinthians 2:9
  2. Have a thirst for the Word Isaiah 55:1 -3/11 — be hungry for the Word of God. Our inheritance is loaded in God’s Word Acts 20:32

Winning Invisible Battle

The Kingdom of darkness where invisible forces resides, is a kingdom of wickedness Matthew 22:13. It takes the weapon of the Dominion of light to overcome these forces John 1:4

  1. Be born again John 1:12 — being born again is an escape from the kingdom of darkness to kingdom of light Acts 26:18 Colossians 1:13
  2. Engage the weapon of Faith. Our Faith quench all the assaults of the enemy Ephesians 6:16 1 John 5:4 — there is nothing hell throws that Faith cannot quench
  3. Seek for outbreak of light and spiritual empowerment through prayer and fasting. Stand before the Lord seeking for light. When light breaks forth, the enemy boss out. There is power in Light, it gives you cheap victory. There is no day light will have discussion with light. Whatever is still staying is a manifestation of insufficient light. No matter the contention, light will shatter it . Light is not just knowing the scripture, its absorbing it in a way that it concerns that situation Isaiah 58:6/8. It’s not just quoting the Bible.
  4. Be committed to Kingdom advancement endeavours which makes divine presence dwells permanently with you Habakkuk 3:1-3
