The Spirit of Joy
Many are laughing outside but are crying on the inside – Superficial joy
When the heart is broken, life is broken. Your joy from henceforth shall be inside out. He is the oil of Joy and Gladness.
I am redeemed a bundle of Joy Isaiah 51:12 — Every child of God is redeemed a bundle of Joy. When we are born again, Joy is one of the fruit of our regenerated spirit.
There is joy of revelation. Every encounter with the truth stairs joy Jeremiah 15:16
The joy of fellowship Psalms 84:7/16:11
The joy of eternity – Hebrews 12:1-2 — Everyone that is sure of eternity is supernaturally joyful. The greatest loss of lack of Joy is the lack of access to divine presence. My God cannot survive a joyless environment.
Depression is a proof of hopelessness. Ecclesiastes 9:4 — A believers case can never be hopeless.
Why we need the Spirit of Joy?
- The Spirit of Joy engraces with joy unspeakable full of glory 1 Peter 1:7-8 — The 3 Hebrew boys were worshipping God in the fiery furnace. It’s the oil of that keeps a believer going in season and out of season Isaiah 61:3 — It empowers believer to keep riding in majesty Psalms 45:4/7 — The more of the joy you have, the more insight you gain and by wisdom kings reign.
- It’s impossible to rejoice with all the troubles in the world — Philippians 4:4 1 Thessalonian 5:16. The world is a marketplace, don’t go to the market if you don’t want to be pushed Zechariah 4:6. The world today is under the siege of the sorrow of heart, so we need the Spirit of Joy not to be broken as others are broken. Heaven responds where joy is — Matthew 24:12 — Look at the trials of faith as the stepping stones to your triumphs Mark 13:7-8 Joel 2:1
- To secure access to increasing revelation. Revelation is the way out of any situation Isaiah 60:1 / 12:3 and joy is the access to light (revelation) 1 Philippians 1:15-18 2 Peter 3:15-16
- To secure our health and vitality Proverbs 17:22/18:14 — stop afflicting yourself with sorrow of heart.
- To keep going after God in season and out of season Habakkuk 3:17-19 — It takes the Spirit of Joy to be rejoicing when things are not working even the way we think they should.
- To secure strength in our innerman 1 Samuel 30:6-8/18 — Proverbs 24:10 — we need strength in the innerman to deal with battles.
- To deliver us from murmurings and complains which can trigger the wrath of God 1 Corinthians 10:10 Numbers 11:1 — Every complains agonist God is at a cost. The cost is terrible but avoidable.
- To secure divine presence that will always differentiate a believer from an unbeliever Psalms 100:4 — It takes joy to carry divine presence Philippians 4:4 Romans 5:5
